Scotty’s celebrated 75 years in 1999 – the company has its beginnings in the 1920’s land boom when new residents poured into Florida to build houses, hotels and businesses. A young Georgia farmer working in Winter Haven recognized the demand for building materials and in 1924 opened Home Builders Supply in Winter Haven. Scotty’s has grown to 70 home centers and hardware stores in Florida and Georgia. The company today still believes in that original hometown service. The smiling, winking Scotsman at each location promises building products at bargain prices, and, in a world of growing competition, the most convenient home and garden shopping experience.
